When most people hear the term "Parrot Head," they associate it with fans of Jimmy Buffet. It dates back to the summer of 1985, at a concert in Cincinnati, OH at the Timberwolf Amphitheater. Timothy B. Schmit, who was a member of the Coral Reefer Band at that time, noticed that members of the audience weren't just wearing Hawaiian shirts and leis, some were actually wearing inflatable parrots on their heads! He described the fans as "Parrot Heads," and the name stuck!
In general, Parrot Heads embrace a laidback lifestyle, filled with good vibes, good friends and the great music of Jimmy Buffett. Parrot Heads flock together in various social settings and often include their "keets," the offspring of Parrot Heads and the next generation of the "phlock."
